The solution for remaining competitive in the global market The main problem facing Italian enterprises is represented by their weight-specificity, which is three times higher than that of Germany. This implies that if we had the same size structure as Italy, our productivity average would increase by 17% compared to France, Germany, and even the entire EU average. The analysis of statistical data on enterprise productivity shows that large enterprises are absolutely excellent, but the country's problem lies in the balance between big and small businesses. That’s why we want to raise awareness among companies about growth, a necessity to remain competitive. Positive correlation, between size and business results, verified individually across sectors (fashion and food) as well as transversely samples.

A recent survey of nearly 140 companies found that the highest development rates over the past five years have been overwhelmingly favoring 'the big': those who indicate stable income for almost six out of ten small, medium, or medium-sized enterprises (less than 50 employees) actually represent just under half of the cases while seven out of ten enterprises showing higher-than-20 percent improvements belong to the larger categories.

A growth that is often achieved through a mixed mode: 37% of those who grow actually do so both by organic development and through acquisitions, with another indication on the rise from surveys, acquiring rarely happens once. Organizational change management, attracting and retaining talents, managing managerial growth, scalability of operational processes, complexity... These skills will be fundamental for overcoming these challenges and remaining competitive in the global market. President of Gea Tito Zavanella has clarified that the solution for overcoming these problems lies in balancing between large and small enterprises.

The importance is not just increasing the productivity of large enterprises but also creating an environment conducive for small and medium-sized enterprises, allowing them to grow and thrive. A different approach requires changing the corporate mindset, where we are forced to consider small and large enterprises as two distinct layers rather than a single entity. It is important to understand that small and large enterprises need different resources, yet both are essential for the growth of the enterprise. Finally, it is important to remember that growth is not only an obligation but also a necessity to remain competitive in global markets. This is why we want to raise awareness among businesses about the topic of growth, which is necessary to stay competitive. END OF SOURCES
