Bayer has had a remarkable success in the third quarter of the year, thanks to strong demand for its main drugs that have compensated market pressures on the agricultural division and consumer health segment. The group has registered a revenue of 10.05 billion euros in the quarter, up 4.1% on an annual basis, surpassing analysts' forecasts of 9.93 billion euros. The pharmaceutical segment (prescription drugs) sales have increased by 8%, reaching 4.7 billion euros on reported basis.

The growth was driven by oncology drug Nubeqa and treatment of chronic kidney disease and heart failure with Kerendia, with sales increasing respectively by 58.3% and 64.9% (net of valuation effects and portfolio). Thanks to these results, Nubeqa sales reached over a billion euros only in the third quarter, while Kerendia achieved blockbuster status, exceeding the one-billion euro mark in 12 months since October 1, 2025. 'Thanks to these results, Nubeqa sales reached over a billion euros only in the third quarter, while Kerendia achieved blockbuster status, exceeding the one-billion euro mark in 12 months since October 1, 2025', explains the company. The net loss for the quarter has been reduced to 672 million euros from the red of 963 million euros from last year, reflecting the impact of valuations and legal costs.

Excluding extraordinary items, EBITDA has risen by 6.9% to 1.6 billion euros. For the pharmaceutical division, the adjusted EBITDA shows a jump of 23.6% to 1.29 billion euros, with an increase in margins of 3.5 percentage points to 27.6%. 'Bayer is operating in line with annual targets already nine months into the year, aiming to capitalize on positive trends leading up to the end of the year', indicates the German group in a press release. 'We have reached a turning point in the growth trajectory of the pharmaceutical sector and are starting to see the benefits', said CEO Bill Anderson presenting the quarterly report. For the entire year, Bayer now expects a sales growth 'in the upper part of the forecast range of the Pharmaceutical Division'. 'Meanwhile, the Crop Science and Consumer Health divisions are registering performance in line with their objectives, despite facing market pressures', added the company.

In this context, Bayer has revised upward its forecasts for the pharmaceutical sector's margin and group EBITDA before extraordinary items, cash flow from disposals and other activities. This performance has led to a 4.1% annual growth, surpassing analysts' forecasts of 9.93 billion euros. The company has had success also in the third quarter, thanks to the performance of its main products that have compensated market pressures on the agricultural division and consumer health segment.
