Nearly eight in ten Italians (76.6%) are interested in developing a more sophisticated approach to making espresso at home, according to a survey conducted by AstraRicerche for La Pavoni.

Among respondents, 16.2% already consider themselves experts committed to experimentation, while 33.6% describe themselves as enthusiasts eager to improve their skills and 26.8% want to learn more.

The growing desire to master coffee-making techniques over the past three years has coincided with a 28.4% decline in occasions when espresso is consumed at a café and a 25.2% increase in home consumption.

“The research confirms a trend we observe closely every day: coffee at home is no longer simply a habit, but a ritual to which Italians are devoting increasing attention,” said Alessio Pezzoni, CEO of La Pavoni. “It is essential to promote an espresso culture focused on detail while enabling everyone to enjoy it according to their own taste.”
