Samsung Electronics has announced its intention to close its appliance sales operations in Hong Kong, a country where Samsung is considered one of the world's largest companies. The company stated that it would focus on products such as televisions, monitors, audio products, professional display solutions, and mobile devices. A check conducted by the South China Morning Post found that major appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, and vacuum cleaners, were listed as 'sold out' on the Samsung Hong Kong official website.

Market statistics showed that Samsung was the third-largest refrigerator seller in Hong Kong, with a 15% market share, beating Japan's Hitachi and America's Whirlpool. Samsung claimed that its home country, Korea, continued to be an important market for Samsung, with a 15% market share, while Samsung lost ground compared to other companies in the household products category. Samsung released financial results for its third quarter, where its semiconductor division had reached a 127% increase compared to the previous period, with a total sales volume of 75.3%.

It also registered an operating profit of 800 billion won. Samsung decided to withdraw from the Chinese market, where the company invested heavily to develop its products and produce high-quality products. This decision was considered a strategy to concentrate resources on its semiconductor division, which is considered more profitable than the appliance division.

The company stated that it continues to monitor changes in the market and consumer preferences, maintaining all its after-sales services, customer satisfaction, and maintenance support for all sold products. Samsung claimed that this decision would not affect its operations or production but only its sales operations.
