Turkey is striving to transform its commitments for climate finance into concrete reality through the COP31 conference. Ankara organized an investment summit in Istanbul before the event that will take place in Antalya. Halil Hasar, the climate diplomacy minister and COP31 president, emphasized the importance of creating consensus and transforming these agreements into actions. He said Turkey is adapting to its peaceful diplomacy experience to help countries with different interests work together towards common goals.

Alpaslan Cakar, CEO of Ziraat Bank, stated that green transition is a strategic priority for Turkey's competitiveness. Changes around the Middle East are highlighted as important for reducing dependence on imported energy. Cakar said that finance should be viewed not just as providing resources but also as a tool that allows for realizing investments.

Ali Fuat Orhonoglu, president of YASED (International Investors Association), emphasized the importance of international investment for bringing capital, technologies, and expertise to Turkey's green transformations. The association represents 280 companies from 35 countries and supports Turkey's target of achieving 120 gigawatts of combined wind and solar capacity by 2035.

The Turkish president invited interested parties to participate in the cooperation process to obtain lasting results. He said that predictable investment conditions, modern infrastructures, and reforms are necessary to achieve these results.

The COP31 offers the opportunity to attract partnerships, but lasting results require a predictable investment, modern infrastructures, and reforms, he added. The data shows that the presence of international capital can help reduce emissions while conserving production and exports. The country’s actions have demonstrated that green transition is a strategic priority for Turkey's competitiveness.

The COP31 is an important moment for Turkey where it will focus on clear commitments, credible plans, and open information to be able to eliminate emissions while maintaining production and exports.
