Rivian is collaborating with Mind Robotics to develop robots for its factory, while Ford has strengthened its presence in future technology. Rivian, the electric vehicle startup that is changing the electric vehicle scene, has appointed Doug Field, the man from Apple, as its president. This news occurred precisely when Ford, the former parent company of Rivian, announced the creation of a new startup called Mind Robotics dedicated to industrial robotics.

Mind Robotics, a revolutionary technology startup, has received significant support from America's famous automaker. Its main goal is to develop 'universal robots' for Rivian's factories but also for other applications. Mind Robotics was founded in 2025 by Rivian CEO, RJ Scaringe, and started its growth with over $1 billion in funding.

Field, an expert in special projects at Apple, had already been a successful leader within Apple, where he worked as VP of specialized hardware and then as Chief Vehicle Engineer at Tesla. He left the Apple sector in 2018 to return to Ford, where he occupied the position of Vice President of Electric Vehicles and Software Division until recently. The decision of Rivian to hire him was considered a great effort for Ford's robot startup. 'Doug is an extraordinary leader with experience in producing new technologies in winning products, and I have no doubt about how happy he will be to build Mind with him,' Scaringe declared, highlighting his ability to 'foster complex ideas and produce products that will meet expectations.' The move of Ford into industrial robotics is a sign of strengthening its innovation strategy and futurism.

Rivian, with the help of Mind Robotics, is trying to put its industrial robotics projects into practice while Ford continues to be one of the first to face this technological challenge.
