KFC has decided to switch from its traditional PepsiCo drink to Coca-Cola as part of a larger plan to return to the American market. This change is part of a wider project that includes creating new drink options and introducing new products like cold coffee and ice cream. The goal is to revive KFC's reputation in the US, where customers have abandoned its brand due to quality and price issues.

It's noteworthy that big fast-food chains have decided to change their beverages before KFC. Previously, Coca-Cola was the second-largest revenue generator for KFC, followed only by McDonald's. Coca-Cola acquired KFC in 1986, but KFC continued to use PepsiCo drinks until 2024 when Coca-Cola tried to compete with Pepsi.

Additionally, Coca-Cola helped many of its restaurant partners create new drinks. For example, KFC recently presented new drinks such as cold coffee and ice cream at an innovation meeting held in McKinney, Texas. KFC aims to introduce Coca-Cola into its official American offices by the first quarter of 2027, and has also declared that Coca-Cola remains an important partner for the company and its international markets.

This beverage change is a rare instance among big fast-food chains, but it has never happened before for KFC.
