Some 69% of respondents say they are concerned about how AI assistants process and use personal data, a percentage now almost identical to that recorded for social networks (70%). Finally, the study highlights strong demand for tools that give citizens greater control over their information. Some 88% of Italians say they are interested in the idea of a “Digital Citizen Portal,” a single space through which they could collect, view and manage the data generated when using public and private services. “This study shows that Italians have developed a strong awareness of privacy, security and data-control issues, but it also highlights a significant awareness gap.
