Critical readWhat happened. The Region of Liguria has invested an additional 2 million euros in vocational training programs for youth with disabilities, further reinforcing its commitment to promoting social inclusion and job opportunities. This investment is part of the regional program 2026, funded within the framework of the Pr Fse+ 2021-2027 instrument (which also uses EU funds), which has allowed to ensure the full coverage of projects presented on two already programmed interventions.
An investment of over 2 million euros to facilitate employment integration of young people with disabilities [1]. The Local Government of Liguria aims at the Institutes of Technical Higher Education, spending 6.73 million euros, in addition to integrating young people with disabilities into the world of work, with another 6.34 million euros. The entity led by Marco Bucci has just strengthened the investments on professional training, increasing the resources destined to the It's paths and to the interventions aimed at integrating young people with disabilities into enterprises.
The integration into the 2026 programming, funded within the framework of the Pr Fse+ 2021-2027 instrument (which also uses EU funds), will allow to guarantee the full coverage of projects presented on two already programmed interventions. For the It's Academy courses, additional 1.73 million euros are allocated, which add to the 5 million already programmed. The increase clarifies that it will allow to finance completely the projects presented on the public regional notice, including six courses that, with the initial resources available, would have remained excluded from the programming.
The increase also increases the resources for the training paths aimed at integrating young people with disabilities: the 6 million already programmed are increased by 348,376 euros. The integration will allow to finance the activities envisaged by the projects for the entire segment indicated, amounting to 630 students. [2] The Local Government of Liguria has explained that 'the training is one of the most important tools we have to transform the capabilities and talent of people into concrete opportunities of autonomy and work. ' For this reason, we chose to increase the available resources and to finance completely the projects presented, without leaving valid paths outside the programming'. The Institutes, added, 'represent a strategic link between specialized training and the needs of enterprises, while the paths aimed at young people with disabilities have a value beyond the training: they signify inclusion, personal growth and the possibility of building one's future through work.
We speak about over 2 million euros additional; an investment that confirms our will to put skills, employment and equal opportunities at the center of regional policies. We want to continue to build a Liguria where training accompanies people concretely towards the world of work and responds, at the same time, to the needs of our productive system. Investing in skills means investing in the competitiveness of the territory, on young people and on the possibility, for each, to find their place in society and in the labor market'.
