A RM15 billion approved financing has stimulated further development of data centers in Malaysia. This has led to significant cost increases but also created job opportunities and promoted local economic growth. The country has also launched a project for a data center in Johor, Malaysia, which is rapidly developing and gaining traction in the global market.

The consortium consists of CIMB, Credit Agricole CIB, DBS, Maybank, OCBC, Standard Chartered, and UOB. This approved financing adds additional funds to the one already established by DayOne, making the total amount RM30 billion. This approved financing not only has stimulated further development of data centers in Malaysia but has also contributed to improving Malaysia's position as a regional leader in digital infrastructure. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy emphasized that "Johor has attracted significant investments in the development of data centers due to its strong connections, robust infrastructures, skilled technical access, and proximity to regional markets."

DayOne's data center has been extended throughout Asia-Europe, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Finland, and Spain. The company recently presented an IPO proposal on Nasdaq with the aim of raising up to US$5 billion, with a potential valuation of US$20 billion. The investment in digital data centers is not exclusive to Malaysia. The government has decided to invest in the research and development of digital technologies, such as blockchain and smart contracts, which will be used to facilitate transactions and increase data security. This approved financing is another clear indication of Malaysia's growing interest in the country's digitalization. The project for the data center in Johor is an example of how the Malaysian government is trying to integrate into the new global order through the creation of job opportunities and promoting local economic growth. This approved financing is another step forward towards this goal, showing the government's willingness to invest in digital technologies and digital infrastructure to improve Malaysia's position as a regional leader in digital infrastructure.
